Inscription:	Sacred to the memory of the Honorable W. D. S. MacDONALD. Who as a member of the legislature of this dominion and minister of the crown during the great war served with distinction until his death. Born in Victoria 1862, Died at Wellington 31st August 1920. Beloved and respected in this district and throughout the Dominion. Leaders of the people were honoured in their generations and were a glory in their day.
