Inscription:This stone is erected to the memory of JOHN FERGUSON who died 6 September 1891 aged 82 years; also MARY FERGUSON who died 12 August 1894 aged 84 yrs, both of Glencoe, Argylshire, Scotland. In memory of FINLAY FERGUSON who was murdered by the rebels under Te Kooti in the Pipiwhaka's Bush, Poverty Bay, on the 12th day of December 1868. Requiescat in pace.
